Royal University of Women Vacancies

The Royal University for Women (RUW) in the Kingdom of Bahrain is seeking the following positions for its 2011-2012 academic year starting from September 2011:


Faculty of Art & Design

  • Full time Faculty member in Graphic Design
    Ph.D. holder in Graphic design or Computer Graphics or digital graphics, with a minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the university level. The candidate should be conceptual both in theory and practice at undergraduate level in all areas of Graphic Design including typography, corporate identity, photography, business practice, publication, websites, motion graphics, environmental design, and packaging & 3D graphics.Proficiency in a range of applications including 3D and Computer Graphics, Flash, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, and other applicable software is preferred.   • Full time Instructor in Interior Design
    Bachelor’s degree holder in Interior design, with a minimum of 1 year teaching experience at the university level or at the Industry, should have full understanding of interior space, History of Interior, interior materials, lighting, acoustics, Mechanical system and construction details. The candidate should have an expertise in Interior Design. Computer skills, using CAD & 3 D Max software are essential.   • Studio Support Technician
    High School Diploma holder with a minimum of 2 years experience of working in an institution with good comprehension of art processes and studio maintenance. The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in assisting students and instructors. Supervises the studio to ensure safe practices in art making and safe handling and storage of materials, should be able to supervise, maintain and repair equipment, coordinate the ordering of materials and organize exhibitions of artwork.
Faculty of Business & Financial Sciences

  • Full-time faculty member in Banking/Finance: Ph.D. in Economics, Finance or a related area with specialization in Banking (especially Islamic Banking) or a related area, a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a university level, The candidate should be able to cover a broad range of banking/finance courses both at the introductory and upper level. Ability to teach any of the following areas would receive preference: finance/banking, Islamic finance, introductory math/stat.
  • Full-time faculty member in Accounting/Finance: Ph.D. in Accounting, Finance or a related area, and a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a university level. The candidate should be able to cover a broad range of accounting/finance courses both at the introductory and upper level. Ability to teach any of the following areas would receive preference: accounting/finance, introductory math/stat.
  • Full-time faculty member in Human Resource Management/International Business: Ph.D. in Business Administration or a related area with specialization in International Business/Human Resource Management, and a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a university level. The candidate should be able to cover a broad range of business, economics and human resource management courses both at the introductory and upper level. Ability to teach business law, labour law and international business law would receive preference.
Faculty of Information Technology
Lab Instructor
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, capable of supervising students’ laboratory sessions and assisting them in learning computer languages. The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in assisting students and faculty members.



Centre of General Studies
Full time lecturer in TESOL / TESL / TEFL
Masters degree in TESOL / TESL / TEFL. Must be able to teach General and Academic English.



Information and Communications Technology
ICT Manager
A minimum of Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS), minimum 5 years' related experience at manager level. The candidate should be able to direct IT systems operations, technical support, systems analysis and programming. Ability to adopt strategic plan, budgeting and support systems.



Maintenance
Maintenance Engineer
Bachelor degree in Civil/Architecture Engineering, a minimum of 5 years experience in a related field. The candidate should be able to manage the university campus maintenance processes, manage and supervise the maintenance staff, perform site inspections and tests, and supervise maintenance contracts.



Marketing and Public Relations
Public Relations Manager
A minimum of a Bachelor degree in marketing/Public Relations, at least 5 years experience preferably in a university environment. The candidate must be able to work in both Arabic and English, able to create and deliver marketing and public relations strategies, plans and budgets, and maintain a favorable media relations, community relations, and internal communications.
